Segue Software, Inc. (NASDAQ-CM: SEGU), the leader in Software
Quality Optimization(TM) (SQO(TM)), announced today the immediate
availability of SilkCentral(TM) Test Manager 8.1, SilkCentral Issue
Manager 4.0, SilkCentral Performance Manager 2.9 and
SilkPerformer(R) 7.3. These new product versions provide enhanced
functionality within Segue's SilkCentral software quality platform.
SilkCentral is an integrated platform to define, measure, manage
and improve software quality throughout the entire application
lifecycle. The platform enables collaboration between the various
quality stakeholders--line of business managers, development,
quality assurance and operations personnel--responsible for various
aspects of software quality. SilkCentral provides a central point
of control for quality activities and helps align application
quality with business goals. The new enhancements introduced by
Segue(R) extend collaboration between quality stakeholders and
facilitate the integration of all quality-related activities. For
example, SilkCentral Test Manager 8.1 offers open application
programming interfaces (APIs) for integration with requirements,
defect tracking and source control applications from other vendors.
Key features in SilkCentral Performance Manager 2.9 include
enhanced mainframe support for Telnet, TN3270, TN5250 and VT100
"green screen" environments. SilkCentral Performance Manager 2.9
also features an open API and improved Web Services that enable
third party tools to integrate with it, further enabling visibility
into all quality and performance aspects of the production
environment. New features in SilkPerformer 7.3 include the same
high-level support for green screen applications as that introduced
within SilkCentral Performance Manager. SilkCentral is built upon
the SilkCentral Common Architecture(TM) (SCA(TM)). The SCA provides
a series of core services such as a central data repository,
collaboration services, integration services, user management
services and workflow services for use by the various SilkCentral
platform modules. Based on J2EE and Web services standards, the SCA
provides an open and highly extensible platform for integration
with both Segue and third party tools and platforms. With the
latest developments in SilkCentral Test Manager, SilkCentral Issue
Manager, SilkCentral Performance Manager and SilkPerformer, these
releases provide the ability to: -- Foster collaboration between
all quality stakeholders across the enterprise with new green
screen support provided within SilkPerformer and SilkCentral
Performance Manager. With a single platform, organizations can now
cover all of the application lifecycle and optimize the quality of
all of their enterprise environments from mainframe to distributed,
Web, client/server as well as Service Oriented Architectures. --
Provide open APIs within SilkCentral Test Manager for integration
with other lifecycle tools such as defect tracking, requirements
management and source control applications. The integration
capability provided through the APIs enables SilkCentral to be a
single point of control for quality management activities and a
central repository for all quality-related metrics. -- Additional
specific integrations are included within SilkCentral Test Manager
for Telelogic(R) DOORS(R) requirements management and CVS source
control solutions. In addition, SilkCentral Test Manager already
includes explicit support for Microsoft(R) Office, Borland(R)
Caliber RM(TM), IBM(R) Rational(R) Requisite Pro(R), IBM Rational
ClearQuest(R), Microsoft Visual SourceSafe(R) and Serena(TM) PVCS.
"For many organizations, the state of the art in IT these days is
distributed, multi-tiered systems and Service Oriented
Architectures (SOA) with Web interfaces. Many times these
architectures also incorporate mainframe systems--which are still
the backbone of many business-critical, transaction intensive
applications," said Andre Pino, chief marketing officer, Segue
Software. "To date, quality-minded organizations haven't had an
easy way to ensure overall quality in heterogeneous environments
that include green screen applications. Now, with Segue's latest
release of the SilkCentral platform, we can provide enhanced
support for load testing and monitoring of green screen
environments, ensuring quality from start-to-finish, throughout the
entire business process." About Segue Software Segue Software, Inc.
