America West Offers Tips for Christmas and New Year's Travelers
PHOENIX, Dec. 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- America West Airlines
announced today that it expects to provide transportation services
to nearly 1.5 million customers during the Christmas and New Year's
holiday travel period between Dec. 18, 2003 and Jan. 6, 2004.
America West now has 36 self-service kiosks available in its
Phoenix hub and six self-service kiosks in its Las Vegas hub.
Customers in Las Vegas also have access to McCarran International
Airport's common-use kiosks for self- service travel assistance on
America West. America West also provides self- service kiosks in 15
other airports in the United States. Customers traveling
domestically on an electronic ticket may check-in through any of
the self- service kiosks. Customers with electronic tickets may
also check in for their flights and print a boarding pass through
the airline's Web site, americawest.com . Internet check in may be
completed up to 30 hours in advance and a minimum of 90 minutes in
advance. America West also offers the following advice for holiday
travelers: -- Check the status of your flight before leaving home
by visiting americawest.com or by calling 1-800-2-FLY-AWA
(1-800-235-9292). -- Allow extra time for parking, checking bags
and screening by the Transportation Security Administration. --
Check your gifts if possible and leave gifts that are being carried
on the aircraft unwrapped. Gifts will count as carry-on items.
Customers are allowed to carry on one small bag and one personal
item like a purse, briefcase or laptop. -- Place all valuables
including medicine, cash, jewelry, cameras and film in a carry-on
bag. -- Tag all your bags, outside and inside, with your name,
