CHARLOTTE, N.C., April 8, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Florida-based
Spirit Airlines has chosen UTC Aerospace Systems' Aerostructures
business to provide maintenance for the nozzles for the Airbus
A320-family aircraft in its fleet that are powered by V2500
engines. The work will be performed at UTC Aerospace Systems'
Alabama Service Center located in Foley,
Ala. UTC Aerospace Systems is a unit of United Technologies
Corp. (NYSE: UTX).
Under the three-year agreement, the Alabama Service Center will
provide Spirit Airlines with assets to cover removal of nozzles
during engine maintenance. The removed nozzles will be sent to the
Alabama Service Center for service. Spirit operates more than 50
Airbus A320-family aircraft and its fleet is among the youngest in
the Americas.
