ERA Carbon Offsets Ltd. (TSX VENTURE: ESR) through its 100% owned
subsidiary ERA Ecosystem Restoration Associates Inc. (ERA), is
pleased to announce a partnership with CSQ Environmental
Technologies Ltd. for the development of up to 450,000 tonnes of
voluntary emission reductions (VER). Delivery of the VERs is
expected to be 150,000 per year starting in 2011, with an option
for ERA to acquire an additional 150,000 in both 2012 and 2013.
The first phase of the project, called Flatrock, is located in
the vicinity of Fort St. John, British Columbia and involves the
restoration of 199 hectares of degraded bare land, unsuitable for
agriculture, to native white spruce forest. Through the
reestablishment of a native forest ecosystem, the project will
enhance watershed protection in the area, while providing increased
habitat for native species of birds and animals.
The tonnes are expected to be used to supply up to 25% of the
$11,000,000 sales agreement with the Forest Carbon Group Ag
announced on December 13th, 2011.
