With permitting completed and a reclamation bond posted, First American Silver Corp. (OTCBB: FASV) has satisfied all requirements with the U.S. Department of Bureau and Land Management, and has therefore commenced drilling on its Mount Jackson gold and silver prospect.

Previous drilling at Mount Jackson in the late 1980s and early 1990s by Pegasus Gold encountered mineralized thicknesses of up to 150 feet with silver grades of up to 16.49 ounces per ton and gold grades up to 0.122 ounces per ton. The current drill program is designed to both confirm the Pegasus results and to test targets that have not yet been tested within the two main still-poorly-defined zones of disseminated mineralization. The six-hole, 3,300-foot reverse circulation drill program will take 10 working days to complete.

Mount Jackson is located in Esmeralda County to the south of historic Goldfield, Nev. in an under-explored portion of the prolific Walker Lane Belt. Mineralization here is hosted in sedimentary rocks of the Lower Cambrian Harkness formation, and tends to be disseminated and relatively widespread.
