North Florida Holsteins Begins Commercial Use of Empowered Water(TM) From EAU Technologies
25 Agosto 2010 - 9:04AM
EAU announces North Florida Holsteins (NFH) has moved from trial to
commercial use of electrolyzed drinking water for a portion of its
Bell, FL farm. EAU Technologies, Inc. ("EAU" or "Company")
(OTCBB:EAUI) began testing its Empowered Water™ for dairies with
NFH in November 2009 as part of a university monitored trial
testing the effectiveness and benefits of its dairy drinking water
on milk production and animal health.
"We have seen a steady marked improvement in the milk production
levels, increased persistence throughout the lactation and improved
animal condition scores of the cows being fed the Empowered
Drinking Water on our farm," said Mr. Don Bennink, Managing Partner
of North Florida Holsteins. "Empowered Drinking Water is working,
and we intend to expand the use of it as much as we can."
NFH began using the Empowered Water™ by EAU, which manufactures
and markets a process for creating Empowered Water™ for
high-volume, industrial and agricultural applications. NFH has been
testing this new technology on 500 cows while a similarly sized
control group stayed on untreated well water. With positive
results during the initial six months of the trial, the technology
was expanded to 750 cows with the potential of further expansion.
"Early results have shown that the cows receiving the EAU Drinking
Water produce up to five pounds more milk per day, and we have been
pleased with the system performance and the minimal maintenance
requirements," says Dave Temple, the NFH General Manager. NFH
maintains a 4,300 cow herd with 3,600 to 3,700 milking most of the
time.
"Working with NFH has allowed us to accurately measure the
increases offered by the water using the daily cow-by-cow data used
on a sophisticated dairy such as this one. We will use these
dramatic results to further our penetration into the dairy market,"
explained Wade Bradley, President and CEO of EAU Technologies.
To create Empowered Drinking Water, either well water or
municipal water is run through EAU's state-of-the-science, high
volume electrolysis generators, creating an optimized alkaline
drinking water that is anti-oxidant in nature (ER). EAU tested
a variety of settings in university studies and working dairies to
find the best combination of a regulated pH and negative ORP
(measurable anti-oxidant capability) that provided the best
drinking solution for the NFH Dairy.
EAU's extensive university level research and commercial dairy
installations have shown that its Empowered Drinking Water can
increase overall milk production. Laboratory fermentation
tests show increased rumen effectiveness leading to increased fiber
and starch digestion, thereby improving the availability of
nutrients to sustain her health, fetus growth and the ability to
produce more milk.
About EAU:
EAU Technologies, Inc. (EAU) is a supplier of Electrolyzed Water
Technology (EW Technology marketed as Empowered Water™) and other
complementary technologies with applications in diverse industries.
EAU's water-based and non-toxic solutions (at application
concentration, the solutions are non-toxic to humans and live
animals) may replace many of the traditional methods now used to
clean, disinfect and nourish in large industries such as
agriculture and food processing. EAU has solutions for existing
bacteria, virus and mold proliferation threats. EAU continues to
add innovative and efficacious products that offer a systemic
approach to pathogen elimination in food processing plants and
related industries, thereby producing safer foods while protecting
the environment through ``Green Technology.'' EAU has developed
patent pending systems that are being used on dairies to process
drinking water for dairy herds. Studies and trials are showing
promising results at improving animal digestion which shows signs
of improved animal health and production. EAU uses terms like
"green", "natural", "non-toxic" and "organic" based on our NAMSA
studies that show no toxicity or cytotoxicity at levels as high as
70 ppm of HOCl. EAU uses only water, food grade electrolytes and
electricity to create all of its solutions. The active ingredients
in the solutions EAU creates through electrolysis are GRAS
(generally regarded as safe) approved. Please visit our website and

About North Florida Holsteins:
Located in the agricultural community of Bell, Florida, 30 miles
west of Gainesville and the University of Florida, North Florida
Holsteins is home to 9000 head of Holsteins on 2300 acres. Managing
partner Don Bennink and the entire management team are committed to
producing quality milk from comfortable cows. NFH was founded in
1980 and has experienced continual growth and
modernization. Over 90% of the herd is registered. The
freestall barns are constructed with tunnel ventilation and water
spray systems for climate control and heat stress
reduction. Cows are monitored several times each day during
their milking sessions and through terminals at cow side locations
allowing immediate access to and input of breeding and health
information. Dairy wide data collection points are used for
individual and combined cow information which is monitored and
maintained in parlor office. NFH's proximity to the University of
Florida and its College of Veterinary Medicine presents a unique
opportunity. The cultivated relationship between the two
provides university staff a sizable number of cows available for
research projects, and gives NFH the opportunity to evaluate the
results as the trials are completed. NFH staff is comprised of
over 70 employees including department managers who meet regularly
to discuss the entire operation, as well as the specific concerns
and needs of each department. Among these employees, one will find
8-10 international students, most of whom have veterinary or four
year agriculture degrees, participating in a highly
successful operations training program where both the students and
the farm benefit. NFH is continually keeping abreast of new
agricultural technology, through involvement with various business
and community organizations, and through cooperation with
universities and companies in research of new products, the
management team strives for continued progress and success.
