NOTICE REGARDING ADOPTION OF INTERNATIONAL FINANCIAL REPORTING STANDARDS (IFRS)

On March 29, 2018, the registrant filed with the Tokyo Stock Exchange a notice concerning its adoption of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) beginning with the first quarter of the fiscal year ending March 31, 2019. Attached is an English translation of the notice filed with the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

Notice Regarding Adoption of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)

Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (“NTT”) hereby announces its decision to replace the currently applied Generally Accepted Accounting Principles in the United States (“U.S. GAAP”) and adopt International Financial Reporting Standards (“IFRS”) for its consolidated financial statements in order to improve the international comparability of its financial information in the capital markets, among other reasons. The period for disclosure based on IFRS will begin with the first quarter of the fiscal year ending March 31, 2019.

    Year ending March 31, 2018: Financial results release, consolidated financial statements and annual securities report – U.S. GAAP*

 

    First quarter of the fiscal year ending March 31, 2019: Quarterly financial results release and quarterly securities report – IFRS

Thereafter, disclosure will be based on IFRS.

 

* Financial forecasts for the year ending March 31, 2019 in the financial results release will be prepared and disclosed in accordance with IFRS.
