Independence Community Bank Establishes Relief Fund for Hurricane Victims, Pledges to Match Donations of Customers, Employees, P

BROOKLYN, N.Y., Sept. 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Independence
Community Bank is coming to the aid of victims of Hurricane
Katrina. With more than 123 branches in the New York-New Jersey
metropolitan region, the Bank has established the Independence
Hurricane Relief Fund for employees, customers and the general
public. All donations will be matched by the Independence Community
Foundation. The SI Bank & Trust Foundation will match donations
on Staten Island. Proceeds of the Independence Hurricane Relief
Fund will go to the American Red Cross. Alan H. Fishman, President

of the 123 branches of Independence Community Bank. On Staten
Island, make donations at the Bank's SI Bank & Trust offices.
