ABS Kids, a leading provider of services to children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), has opened seven new applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy centers in the United States so far in 2024. The organization also anticipates additional growth with dozens of centers opening by the end of the year.

ABS Kids currently has 35 total centers in California, North Carolina, Tennessee and Utah, and will expand into South Carolina later this year.

“Our vision at ABS Kids is to make high-quality, family-centered ABA therapy accessible across the country,” said ABS Kids President and Founder Jeff Skibitsky, M.A., BCBA, LBA. “We are excited about this recent growth, including our expansion into South Carolina, which is noteworthy because it marks our first facility available to families in that state. ASD diagnosis rates are rising in recent years, so it is critical for us to continue realizing our vision.”

With 1 in 36 children in the U.S. dealing with autism and 1 in 28 reported in South Carolina (as of 2017 data), the need for ASD services is evident. According to the CDC’s data from its 2023 Community Report on Autism, children born in 2016 were 1.6 times more likely to receive an ASD diagnosis or ASD special education classification by four years of age compared to children born in 2012.

“Our centers give families a much-needed option for early diagnosis and help these children develop new social skills, prepare for school and participate in engaging learning activities under the close supervision of our caring providers,” said ABS Kids CEO Adam Singer, M.D. “These skills help kids reach key milestones so they are better positioned to transition into adulthood.”
