OTTAWA, ON, June 26, 2024 /CNW/ - Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada, will take part in two special events on June 28 as part of the summer season at Rideau Hall.

Annual Inspection of the Ceremonial Guard
June 28, 2024 at 9:20 a.m. on the Rideau Hall Forecourt (weather dependent)
Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada Mary Simon will conduct the Annual Inspection of the Ceremonial Guard. The event will include a performance by the military band, a military parade, an inspection of the guard and the band, and the "Viceregal Salute" to Her Excellency.
Then every weekend from June 29 to August 5 (on the hour, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.), the Ceremonial Guard will perform the Relief of the Sentries on the grounds of Rideau Hall.

Launch of Storytime at Rideau Hall
June 28, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. in the Reading Tent
The Governor General will launch this year's Storytime at Rideau Hall by joining young visitors to Rideau Hall to read books and participate in fun literacy activities under a Reading Tent. This free family event, which is facilitated by United for Literacy volunteers, aims to build confidence and plant the seeds of lifelong learning.
