Schmuelling, CPA, to the role of President. Schmuelling had been the firm’s Chief Operating Officer and Vice President. Michael T. Buckius, CFA®,1 who became President of Gateway in March 2021, retains the title of CEO as well as Chief Investment Officer and portfolio manager.

Joining Gateway in 2014 as the firm’s Chief Financial Officer, Schmuelling has added to her responsibilities over the past ten years, including oversight of the firm’s compliance, financial reporting, client accounting and information technology functions. Previously, she spent 11 years at Ultimus Fund Solutions, LLC, an independent fund administration provider, where, as Vice President – Mutual Fund Controller, she ultimately oversaw the daily operations and financial reporting for over 25 mutual funds with $7 billion in net assets. Prior to that, Schmuelling was employed as a Senior Auditor at Arthur Andersen LLP. She is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati, is a Certified Public Accountant, and has worked in the financial services industry since 1999.
