Legal Proceedings Filed - Further Update

Annington Property Limited ("Annington") announced on 19 August 2024 that it had filed proceedings in the High Court of England and Wales challenging provisions of the Leasehold and Freehold Reform Act 2024 (the "Act"), which are not yet in force (the "High Court Proceedings").

On 18 September 2024, Annington filed legal proceedings in the European Court of Human Rights against the United Kingdom challenging the same provisions of the Act in that forum, in addition to the High Court Proceedings. These proceedings have been filed protectively to ensure they have been brought within the European Court of Human Rights' limitation period for claims.  For further details in relation to the claims, including the reasons why Annington has filed proceedings, please refer to the Q and A dated 23 August 2024, which can be found at:
