Posting of Scheme Document 
 
 
Further to the announcement on 15 July 2009 in relation to the recommended share 
offer by Connaught plc for Fountains plc (the "Offer"), the Company confirms 
that the circular containing, amongst other things, the terms of the scheme of 
arrangement and an explanatory statement (in compliance with Part 26 of the 
Companies Act 2006) to Fountains Shareholders (the "Scheme Document") is being 
posted to Fountains shareholders today, and for information only, to Fountains 
optionholders. 
The Board of Directors of the Company has unanimously recommended the Offer and 
the Company has received irrevocables in respect of 0.35% of the Company's 
issued share capital, amounting to 53,000 shares, and non-binding letters of 
intent in respect of 38.3% of the Company's issued capital, amounting to 
5,760,278 shares, from shareholders to vote in favour of the scheme resolutions. 
The court and shareholder meetings to approve the Scheme of Arrangement are 
scheduled to take place on 14 August 2009. 
 
 
Copies of the Scheme Document will be available for inspection during normal 
business hours on any weekday (Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays excepted) 
up to and including the Scheme Effective Date (3 September 2009) at the 
registered office of the Company (Blenheim Court, George Street, Banbury, 
Oxfordshire, OX16 5RA) and at the offices of Hammonds LLP (7 Devonshire Square, 
London EC2M 4YH). 
 
 
The Scheme Document will also be available on the websites of Fountains and 
Connaught until the Scheme Effective Date or such later date as Fountains and 
Connaught might decide at www.fountainsplc.com and www.connaught.plc.uk.
