The board of Persian Gold, the Iranian gold explorer (AIM:PNG), is pleased to
announce the appointment of Dr Manouchehr Takin to the board.



Manouchehr Takin has nearly forty years working experience in natural resources.
  He had his school education in Alborz High School, Tehran, Iran and university
education in the UK (B Sc Honours Geology, Manchester and Ph D Geophysics,
Cambridge), as well as one year marine geophysics research in the USA (Columbia
University, New York).



He has worked as geologist and manager for the Iranian Oil Consortium,
Geological Survey of Iran, Anglo American, Sarchemeh Copper (non-executive board
member), Amoco, Ultramar (Exploration Manager), National Iranian Oil Company,
OPEC Secretariat in Vienna and, since 1990, at the Centre for Global Energy
Studies in London (Senior Petroleum Upstream Analyst).



Dr. Takin has published numerous articles on technical, economic and policy
issues covering Iranian and Middle East geology, porphyry copper deposits, and
world oil supply prospects.  He is a frequent speaker in international
conferences and a well-known commentator and analyst for the global media (BBC,
CNN, Bloomberg, as well as many newspapers and magazines in different parts of
the world).



Dr Takin has been granted options over 100,000 shares in the Company,
exercisable at 23.5p per share at any time before 11 April 2013.  There are no
further matters to disclose in accordance with Schedule 2(g) of the AIM Rules.
