    Shieldtech plc ("Shieldtech" or "the Company")


    Trading Update 

    The Board of Shieldtech, the specialist provider of products and services to the Homeland Security market, today made the following
trading statement:

    "Trading in the three months to September 2008 has shown significant improvement compared to the corresponding period last year
following a major revision of ballistic standards by the UK Government. The sales momentum that began in the last quarter of the financial
year to June 2008 has increased further.

    Aegis, our body armour systems business, has received further orders amounting to �1.1 million from a major overseas defence client for
delivery in this financial year ending June 2009.  Following receipt of these orders the group's order book is now �3.6 million (2007:
�0.6m).

    In addition:  

    *     HMRC (Revenue and Customs) have confirmed their award of contract to Aegis.  The contract commences on 3 November 2008 and is for
the supply of overt, covert and maritime covers and protective inserts for two years;
    *     An existing national framework agreement covering nine police forces for up to 22,000 officers has been extended for one year
until January 2010;
    *     A police force has exercised its option to extend its existing contract to supply up to 2,000 officers for a further twelve
months.
    The Directors are confident that sales in the current financial year ending June 2009 will be substantially greater than those in the
previous year and also of a return to profitability this year."
