Nuveen Announces Updated Closed-End Fund Portfolio Management Team

Nuveen Investments, a leading global provider of investment
services to individual investors, today announced that Peter
Agrimson has assumed an expanded role as co-portfolio manager for
the Nuveen Multi-Market Income Fund (NYSE: JMM), effective
March 18, 2016. Peter joins existing portfolio managers Jason
O’Brien, Chris Neuharth and John Fruit. As a member of Nuveen Asset
Management’s Securitized Debt team, Peter has been responsible for
trading mortgage-backed securities, asset-backed securities and
commercial mortgage-backed securities in JMM.
The objective of the fund is to provide high monthly income
consistent with prudent risk to capital with exposure across
multiple fixed income markets. The fund invests primarily in debt
securities, including, but not limited to, U.S. agency and
privately issued mortgage-backed securities, corporate debt
securities, and asset-backed securities. At least 65% of the fund’s
total assets must be invested in securities that, at the time of
purchase, are rated investment-grade or of comparable quality.
About the Fund’s Portfolio Management
Team
Jason J. O'Brien: O’Brien is Head of the Securitized Debt
Sector Team and a member of the Fixed Income Strategy Committee,
which establishes investment policy for all taxable fixed income
products. He is a portfolio manager on the Core, Short Term Bond,
Intermediate Government and Multi-Market Income Funds. He began
working in the financial industry in 1993 when he joined the firm.
O’Brien received a B.A. in finance from the University of St.
Thomas. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is
a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Minnesota.
Chris J. Neuharth: Neuharth serves as a member of Nuveen
Asset Management’s Fixed Income Strategy Committee, which
establishes investment policy for all taxable fixed income
products. In his role as Head of Investment Risk, Neuharth focuses
on the implementation of risk models, enhancement of market data,
quantitative credit analysis, and performance attribution systems.
As a senior fixed income portfolio manager, he leads the Core Bond
and Short Term Bond Strategies and co-manages the Intermediate
Government Bond Strategy, as well as related institutional
portfolios.
Neuharth began working in the financial industry in 1981, and
became a portfolio manager in 1985. He rejoined the firm in 2000
after working at Brinson Partners as a director and senior
portfolio manager. Prior to that, he was director of risk
management for U.S. Bank’s asset management division and
broker/dealer. He was also a fixed income portfolio manager at
Fortis Advisors and First Minnesota Bank. He received a B.S. in
business finance from Winona State University.
John T. Fruit: Fruit is the head of Nuveen Asset
Management’s High-Yield Credit Sector Team and a member of its
Fixed-Income Strategy Committee, which establishes investment
policy for all taxable fixed-income products. As a senior
fixed-income portfolio manager, he leads the High Yield Bond
strategy and related institutional portfolios. He is also a member
of the Emerging Markets Sector Team. Fruit began working in the
financial industry in 1988 and joined the firm in 2001 to serve as
a senior fixed-income research analyst. He received a B.S. in
economics and international business from the University of
Wisconsin–Madison. In addition, he holds the Chartered Financial
Analyst professional designation. He is a member of the CFA
Institute and the Chicago Society of Security Analysts.
Peter Agrimson: In addition to his new co-manager role
for JMM, Agrimson is a co-manager on Nuveen Asset Management’s
Short Term Bond product. He is also a member of the Securitized
Debt Sector Team, responsible for trading mortgage-backed
securities, asset-backed securities and commercial mortgage-backed
securities. He performs credit analysis and surveillance for the
firm’s mortgage-backed securities and asset-backed securities
portfolios. He began working in the financial services industry in
2005. Prior to joining the firm in 2008, he served as credit
analyst at Long Lake Partners, LLC, where he did credit analysis
for the company’s structured products portfolio. Agrimson earned a
B.S. in finance from Northern Illinois University. He holds the
Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA
Institute.
