Bombardier promoted Peter Likoray to senior vice president of
sales for business aircraft, continuing a recent string of
management changes as the company works to address troubles in its
aerospace business.
Bombardier said Mr. Likoray has been with the Montreal-based
plane and train maker since 1990 and was most recently vice
president of business aircraft sales for North America. He replaces
Bob Horner, "who left the organization to pursue other interests."
The change is effective immediately.
In February, former United Technologies Corp. executive Alain
Bellemare took the helm at the family-controlled company, whose
CSeries jet program has encountered numerous delays, weighed on
margins and eaten away at its cash pile. In addition to naming Mr.
Bellemare as chief executive, the company recently raised about $3
billion through an equity and debt issue to shore up liquidity and
address investor concerns.
Mr. Bellemare hasn't wasted time in putting his stamp on
management. Last week, the company announced the retirement of
longtime Chief Financial Officer Pierre Alary and the departure of
Mike Arcamone, who headed its commercial aircraft business.
Bombardier named aircraft leasing veteran Fred Cromer to head its
commercial aircraft unit but hasn't yet named a new chief financial
officer.
