PARIS AIR SHOW, Paris, June 14,
2015 /PRNewswire/ -- UTC Aerospace Systems uses data
from systems onboard aircraft to monitor operating conditions and
track position while aircraft are in route. UTC Aerospace
Systems' Aircraft Data Management (ADM) system uses the tremendous
amount of data that current aircraft generate for crew awareness of
flight operations and allows that to be shared with ground-based
teams at locations maintained by the operator. Combining the
aircraft health information with positioning information allows
operators to maintain a clear view of their entire fleet in-flight
at any given time. UTC Aerospace Systems is a unit of United
Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).
The aircraft's health and position reporting integrates with a
variety of communications providers including SATCOM or standard
ACARS. The system is based on UTC Aerospace Systems' Aircraft
Interface Device (AID) which pairs the onboard systems with the
communications portal during flight. A key element of the
system automatically increases the frequency of data sent to the
ground teams should any anomalous information be detected, allowing
additional time to mitigate any safety concerns.
Brian Sartain, director of
Business Development, Sensors and Integrated Systems said, "UTC
Aerospace Systems maintains safety as its top priority and by
utilizing data generated by any aircraft; we aim to increase the
safety and efficiency of our customers' entire fleet."
UTC Aerospace Systems' ADM solutions include the proven
technologies of the AID, Tablet Interface Module (TIM™) and
Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) systems. Currently, over 500 aircraft
flying today have UTC Aerospace Systems' ADM systems.
