Mississippi Library Commission Selects AGent VERSO™ to Replace Symphony ILS

Auto-Graphics, Inc., a technology innovator providing library
automation solutions for 40 years, today announced that the
Mississippi Library Commission (MLC) will be implementing AGent
VERSO™ as its integrated library system (ILS). AGent VERSO will
replace the library's SirsiDynix® Symphony® system.
“AGent VERSO was the best solution for us because it allowed us
to maximize every penny spent on technology, while the SaaS option
significantly frees-up staff to focus on services as opposed to
managing the system,” said Glenda Tilson, library services division
director for the Mississippi Library Commission. “The support that
we have received from Auto-Graphics in running our statewide system
has been outstanding and was a contributing factor in our selection
of AGent VERSO.”
The addition of AGent VERSO will allow the MLC to fully leverage
its existing statewide interlibrary loan (ILL) investment, AGent
Resource Sharing™, which is also provided by Auto-Graphics. The MLC
will now deliver a single user interface for staff and patrons to
manage both ILL and ILS transactions through the integrated AGent™
library automation platform. They will also make use of the
following features – the AGent Iluminar™ user interface, Serials,
the EDI X.12-compliant Acquisitions module and the NCIP-enabled
Circulation-Interlibrary Loan Link (CILL) module – to streamline
workflow and empower patrons to initiate and track their own ILL
transactions.
The library opted to deliver the system using the Software as a
Service (SaaS) hosted model with full system support, maintenance
and updates, allowing the MLC to focus on expanding patron services
without the additional cost and complexity of addressing technical
support issues.
“We are pleased to help our longtime statewide partner recognize
significant efficiencies gained through the use of the integrated
AGent platform across ILS and ILL functionality,” commented Albert
Flores, vice president of sales and marketing at Auto-Graphics.
“This contract award is following a trend of libraries turning to
Auto-Graphics to provide affordable, robust, feature-rich
technology systems supported by high-quality customer service and
delivered using the SaaS model.”
