Enhanced programs will help facilitate
efficient migration onto a modern Windows Server platform
Lenovo (SEHK:0992) (Pink Sheets:LNVGY) today announced
enhancements to their Windows Server 2003 End-of-Support Program in
North America, providing resellers with highly-effective tools to
help customers migrate from their Windows Server 2003 environment,
to the new System x and ThinkServer platforms running the latest
Windows Server 2012 R2 operating platform.
The Lenovo Windows Server 2003 End-of-Support Program features
discounts on popular ThinkServer configurations, incremental
rebates on many TopSeller configurations and now System x
configurations. In addition, Lenovo will offer special financing
through Lenovo Financial Services with no payments for up to 90
days, and demo units for evaluation. Resellers will also have
access to technical whitepapers to aid migration of the OS and
applications, as well as sales tools, and reseller customizable
customer collateral – providing everything needed to enable
partners to offer services and an exceptional experience for their
customers.
“Working with Microsoft, Lenovo's unique approach to Windows
Server 2003 migration enables our channel partners to provide their
value add services to their customers. These services include
detailed assessments, migration and integration. Combined with
Lenovo’s robust suite of training, tools, marketing, and financing,
these offerings will greatly benefit our collective end users,”
said Chris Frey, vice president, Lenovo North America Commercial
and Channel business. “Consistent with our channel approach,
this program demonstrates our philosophy of simplicity,
consistency, predictability and profitability for our
partners.”
“Microsoft and Lenovo have a history of bringing breakthrough
products and programs to our customers and channel partners,” said
Jordan Chrysafidis, vice president of US OEM, Microsoft Corp.
“Today’s program announcement is the latest example. Lenovo’s
innovative ThinkServer and System x portfolio, together with
Windows Server 2012 R2, provides a powerful solution that addresses
a critical customer need while creating new opportunities for our
channel partners.”
The program includes attractive offers on ThinkServer System
Building Blocks and System x configurations with Windows Server
2012 R2 licenses, special financing, sales and co-marketing tools,
training, technical information and assistance that can be utilized
by Lenovo partners to develop and deliver migration services
personalized for their customers. Partners will now be able to help
their customers enjoy a more secure, efficient and compliant IT
