eMedia Networks Corp. (TSX VENTURE:EMM), a leading provider of music for retail
and business environments, today unveiled its third-generation audio player. The
new "emPlayer Smart" is an industrial-grade, flash memory-based audio player
featuring intelligent song selection and programming features. eMedia
manufactures, markets and services its proprietary audio player to over 3,900
subscribers.

The new emPlayer Smart utilizes proprietary software to enhance shopping, dining
and other retail experiences. Through an internally developed algorithm, the
emPlayer Smart actively adjusts playlists, durations and schedules to minimize
repetition and maximize enjoyment. eMedia's newest product has no moving parts
and consumes 80% less power (10W) than its predecessor. The flash memory
hardware embedded in the player provides greater reliability than other
competitive media players, particularly those that utilize hard drives or
optical drives. eMedia fully guarantees emPlayer Smart for the lifetime of the
customer's contract and offers replacement units at no charge.

"We're not aware of any other legal way to deliver music to in-store
environments more cost effectively than our emPlayer Smart. We make it easy for
customers to increase sales without increasing costs," said Darren Reiter, CEO.
"Our new player gives clients instant access to a massive library of
fully-licensed popular music, and it ships with a lifetime warranty and fully
customized playlists - by daypart, music type, mood - the intelligent software
works to drive in-store sales and an appropriate brand experience."

Intelligent Software

The emPlayer Smart utilizes proprietary "smart rotation" Linux-based software
that provides remote control of custom playlists and the ability to change key
aspects of the customer's audio experience. The device holds approximately two
thousand CD quality songs and weighs 90% less than the previous model. The
product sends and receives instructions and music updates from the internet as
necessary.

A Differentiated, Low Cost Audio Player

The emPlayer Smart is targeted at retail apparel stores, casinos, restaurants,
shopping malls and other locales where music is a factor in the sales and brand
experience. Beta testing concluded last week at twelve of eMedia's 3,900
subscriber locations.

"Customers appreciate the high quality and low price of the emPlayer Smart,"
said Jasvir ("Bill") Athwal, CFO. "Research shows music and digital signage
offer benefits for consumer environments. Now that our intelligent solid state
audio player is shipping, we are working hard on delivering a similar video
product."
