The U.S. Department of Justice has closed its investigation into ENI SpA's (ENI.MI) Nigerian and Algerian activities without taking action, the Italian oil-and-gas company said Tuesday. Third-party inquiries on the Nigerian and Algerian activities found no evidence of wrongdoing, Eni said. "DOJ Closes Investigation Over Eni's Nigerian, Algerian Activities," at 1436 GMT on Tuesday, misstated in the first paragraph that the DOJ hadn't found any evidence of wrongdoing. Inquiries conducted by third parties into the Nigerian and Algerian activities, rather than a DOJ investigation, found no evidence of wrongdoing.
