The  Miller  Group  Limited ("Miller") notes the wishes of  CALA  shareholders
holding  a  significant proportion of CALA shares to support Dotterel  Limited
("Dotterel"),  the  MBO  vehicle  of  the CALA  executive  directors.   Miller
announces   that  it  has  agreed  to  sell  its  CALA  shares,   representing
approximately 5.7 per cent of CALA's ordinary share capital, to Dotterel at  a
price of 200p per share.  Miller is pleased to have played a part in realising
full value for CALA shareholders.

Miller wishes the management and employees of CALA well under its  new owners.

Miller  was pleased to have received the full backing of its shareholders  and
funders  for its offer for CALA and it will continue to look for opportunities
to grow its property and housebuilding businesses.

In  view  of  the  above,  the Panel on Takeovers and Mergers  has  given  its
consent,  subject to Dotterel posting its offer document, for Miller 1999  not
to post its offer document.
