         Platinum Diversified Mining Inc ("Platinum" or the "Company")

                Result of Extraordinary General Meeting ("EGM")

The EGM relating to the proposed acquisition of Nord Resources Corporation ("
Nord") was reconvened and held today at 6pm (UK time).  This followed the
previous adjournments of the meeting due to lack of clarity over the delivery of
proxies and the completion thereof.

The Directors of Platinum are pleased to announce that the resolution to approve
the acquisition of Nord was duly passed by the requisite majority.  Completion
of the acquisition and re-admission of the issued share capital of Platinum to
trading on AIM are also conditional, amongst other things, on the approval of
the merger agreement and the acquisition by the shareholders of Nord at a
general meeting of the shareholders of Nord, due to be held on 20 December 2006.
