The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) today announced its updated Hydrogen Program Plan, a foundational resource for advancing research, development, demonstration, and deployment (RDD&D) of clean hydrogen technologies. The Hydrogen Program Plan specifically identifies and articulates strategic, high-impact areas of focus across DOE’s Hydrogen Program, a cohesive and coordinated effort involving multiple hydrogen-related offices.

Advancing a coordinated strategy for RDD&D is particularly important for clean hydrogen because it has the potential to be used across virtually all sectors of the economy and it can be produced, stored, and delivered in many ways. A successful strategy will need to integrate efforts in renewable, nuclear, and fossil energy—and coordinate across end uses in multiple sectors of the economy.

This plan provides a strategic framework that incorporates RDD&D efforts of the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management, Office of Nuclear Energy, Office of Electricity, Office of Science, Loan Programs Office, Office of Manufacturing and Energy Supply Chains, Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations, and the Advanced Research Projects Agency – Energy to advance the production, transport, storage, and use of hydrogen.

In 2023, several federal agencies developed the U.S. National Clean Hydrogen Strategy and Roadmap, a comprehensive, nationwide framework for accelerating the production, processing, delivery, storage, and use of clean hydrogen. This 2024 update to the Hydrogen Program Plan explains how DOE offices collaboratively work to efficiently implement the strategies outlined in the Strategy and Roadmap. This new version also includes updated supporting data and analysis, a description of the Regional Clean Hydrogen Hubs, information about ambitious DOE-wide goals established through the Hydrogen Shot™, and examples of DOE-wide efforts to establish a strong workforce, maximize technology efficiency and accelerate innovation in the transition to a hydrogen economy.

Well, looks like Nikola is underperforming the market again today. So much for outperforming and still finishing in the red the other day. I have a feeling it finishes in the red today...another all-time low hit this morning out of the gate.

NKLA has used up a ton of money - and a half ton more they projected - to get this far

along the way of spending a ton of money to get to where they are now - equity got killed - no one argues

the outstanding question today is

can NKLA get to a break even on cash spent and earned without wiping out current equity holders or diluting them again by 30 x

we will see - proof of concept stage is over and a factory that can produce tons of trucks is built and producing

I expect further dilution of my current holdings and do not add. I hope to be able to add at the next "anticipated" dilution

ptcgolf, I was responding to your negative/bearish post, presenting a different perspective by pointing out a simple fact. We all know that NKLA has been underperforming the market forever, no need for me to bring it up.

Ok, but I sure didn't see you posting about underperforming the market when it was down 15-20% and the markets were green or just slightly in the red. Those are the facts too.

ptcgolf, I disagree, not misleading, I'm just stating the facts. NKLA, is currently outperforming the markets, as the markets are currently red by over 1%, and NKLA is up 6%, Again just the facts, not misleading.

Outperforming is misleading, it was up .30+ cents on the bounce until Powell's rate cut came out. It is still an equity with horrible management on the cusp of BK. In other words, it is a POS, worth trading only.

ptcgolf, NKLA is greatly outperforming the overall markets right now, all markets significantly lower due to Fed Chair Powell comments on rates/inflation.

My definition of flat is +- one or two cents.

DNU, as far as I'm concerned, NKLA is priced for bankruptcy. Since I don't believe it'll go bankrupt, I doubled my position over the last couple of days.

Now that so so so much money has in total been invested and used up by NKLA to get to this spot - I want to continue an equity position

So the irony is --- the stock might go up 100-200-300-400 percent - but if its a total buy out of current owners of NKLA that could be a long term bummer (given how few shares post RS I have and how much I lost (that i can afford)

we may learn more --- bluntly if it stays up 25% or more we should learn more - TODAY

Possibly the end of Tax loss selling. Also, being on the Reg Sho list will spur some short covering. I am in ave 1.20 for the trade.

so - even those bullish - like me - have no incentive to buy now and be diluted ---- best to simply wait

We also know that the IRS will issue its 45V hydrogen tax credit guidance later in the week, mostly likely on Friday. Let’s be clear on the three items that will create demand for a hydrogen marketplace: 1) The DOE’s Loan Program office has/continues to invest in innovative technologies to produce and develop hydrogen, 2) DOE’s $7B Hydrogen Hubs are regional stakeholder, private-public partnership that can/will implement the infrastructure and market (which has companies and advocates, as well as Govs. Greg Abbott and Gavin Newsom on the same side and 3) a FLEXIBLE IRS 45V tax credit will boost the marketplace and create demand in the expanding hydrogen industry. Seems the BK rumor has some legs...down to $1.13 after hours. It sure isn't just tax loss selling.

1 1/2 yrs ago, this stock was $100 per share...its now a buck...it was a slow moving train wreck but it has been a steady downtrend for a long time...

nkla drops gradually, as it makes a new low daily...but when it goes for a few days without making new lows, it CRUSHES the last new low...and its dropping in after hours as well....

This drop is maddening. With the RS and continued decline I've lost so much value that there's no reason to even sell at this point. I assume there as been a lot of institutional selling for year end losses? I believe in this tech, and the need for the heavy trucking industry, but every possible force that could come against this company seems to have done so. Hoping for a turnaround, or at least a buyout. It seems like someone would want to buy this company considering what they have accomplished, and the momentum in H for vehicles.

Running for the exits now...1.20 and falling. Looks like bk coming faster than thought.

(a strong partner - bringing in cash for equity - would be of major value. And I do think NKLA has enough of a head start with H Trucks to be a valuable partner on the other side - if one believes H trucks have a bright future)

Going sub $1 before the end of the year. Then they probably reorganize and recapitalize, until they run out of money again and repeat the whole mess, starting with dilution and then another RS.
