Item 5.02 Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers
As previously reported on a Current Report on Form 8-K filed on December 5, 2022, Mr. Dhiaa M. Jamil, currently serving as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Duke Energy Corporation (the “Company”), notified the Company of his intention to retire from the Company midyear 2023. On March 6, 2023, Mr. Jamil notified the Company that he has selected June 30, 2023 as his retirement date. As previously reported, Mr. Jamil began to transition his responsibilities on January 1, 2023, at which time his specific functional responsibilities were shifted to other leaders.
