Pollard, CES® has received The Margo McDonnell Certified Exchange Specialists® Perpetual Award for Outstanding Service from the Federation of Exchange Accommodators (FEA). The award was created in 2008 to honor Margo McDonnell, CES®, who is senior vice president and regional sales manager for First American Exchange Company. She was responsible for spearheading the industry's efforts to launch the voluntary certification and continued education program. Each year, the FEA recognizes a Certified Exchange Specialist® (CES) who has demonstrated extraordinary service to the qualified intermediary industry. Pollard, who is vice president and regional manager for First American Exchange Company in Chicago, was honored for his service to the members of the FEA and the exchange industry as a whole. While presenting the award during the FEA's recent annual conference in Orlando, Fla., Margo McDonnell, who is also the chair emeritus of the CES Certification Council, stated, "Hugh truly represents the character and professionalism we hope all CES designees possess. He is always willing to provide input and a voice of reason, when needed, and continuously strives to protect the best interests of the CES program while ensuring it provides a benefit to the FEA." As an FEA Charter Council Member, Pollard helped shape the CES Program. After serving on the Council for five years, he left to assume the role of president of the FEA in 2007. In late 2008, he volunteered to serve a second term after the incoming president of the FEA decided to step down.
