TUCSON, Ariz., Sept. 8, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Applied Energetics,
Inc., (NASDAQ: AERG) announced today that its advanced technology
Laser Applications Center in Tucson is open and available for customer
demonstrations. The Applications Center contains the
Company's newest high energy, high average power Ultra Short Pulse
(USP) laser system demonstration work centers and a Visitor's
Conference Center. The facility is designed to provide
commercial and military customers access to the Company's products
and to enable demonstration of the technology for processing of
materials, and other customer applications. The new
Applications Center provides a unique range of capabilities
facilitated by cutting edge USP Laser technology which removes
material through ablation without causing heating in the
surrounding area.
The latest Applied Energetics (AE) USP laser product line
delivers the pulse energy, intensities, and repetition rate
required for enabling industrial applications for precision
micromachining of metals, ceramics, polymers, glasses and composite
materials. The new system is one of the highest performance USP
Lasers available on the market. Potential customers will be able to
work with Applied Energetics' engineers in the Applications Center
to identify methods and techniques to refine their micromachining
processes.
Joseph Hayden, President of AE,
commented, "This new Applications Center demonstrates Applied
Energetics' commitment to our customers' most challenging
production and processing requirements. This capability
represents one component of our strategic initiative to transition
the leading-edge technologies we have developed for our military
customers into potential industrial systems that can provide new
capabilities to commercial manufacturers. Commercial customers now
have the opportunity to utilize our USP Lasers on their own
applications and materials, and better understand the capabilities
and value that these new systems can bring to their manufacturing
processes."
