so true cat especially with our earnings and future potential...when you look at market average for the p/e ratios and our marketplace is somewhere in the 40x range and we are sitting at 17-19x with huge potential growth in video compression etc we could be sitting on a qcom of the early 2000s....but as you know we have had these expectations for years now and still holding

Would IDCC be required to put out a press release when the arbitration result finally comes back?  Will they have to update earning projections if the resulting decision alters current projections in any significant way?

IDCC closed up $8.86 (4.45%). Some retribution for the longs today. Go IDCC.

License announcements will becoming starting with the Samsung arbitration decision.

IMO the share price would increase substantially if IDCC could execute and sign one or more of these vendors, tiktok, youtube, netflex and disney this year. AMHO,

Retribution shall belong to the longs. IDCC seems to be trading with the markets. Which at this time has no knowledge of what good things will soon be announced soon. 

I think IDCC is holding up very well in this fiasco of a market due to the man made societal pervasive fiasco.

Short interest rose a tad at 2/28 2,180,000 from 2,100,000

I can't help but think that our market makers may be some of the short sellers.

IDCC is the BEST, in the NORTH, SOUTH, EAST, and WEST.

CNBC just adjusted to 9K volume AH.

It's a NEW company .

IDCC did have $219 AH , but it was only 8500 shares.
This from Nasdaq AH which is pretty reliable.

Never mind, every stock I looked at had absurd extended hours volumes, it must be an error.

CNBC shows 19.5 million after hours volume. There are only 25 million outstanding.

Nice PR this am!  It looks like they got about $80 million in back royalties in addition to $10 million per quarter of recurring.

Hopefully Samsung license gets a decent bump.  Curious to see how licensing streamers unfolds.

It seems that the Huawei license expired at the end of 2023. I have searched various sources but cannot find any information that the license was renewed as of this date. Is it possible the mention of the Chinese licensee in today's press release relates to huawei.


I found the following in a search on Safari.


"In a regulatory filing, InterDigital said the licensing agreement runs through 2023, and covers royalties from the sale of some of Huawei's 3G, 4G and 5G wireless telecommunications products."

Tesla v InterDigital & Avanci [2025] EWCA Civ 193
In the latest chapter of FRAND litigation before the English courts, the Court of Appeal sets the boundaries of the courts’ jurisdiction to make FRAND declarations requested by the implementer in relation to a SEP platform (here, the Avanci 5G Platform targeting the automotive industry).

The appeal considered Fancourt J’s judgment ([2024] EWHC 1815 (Ch)) allowing Avanci’s Part 11 Application to set aside permission to serve out granted to Tesla on its ex parte application before Mellor J. We have summarised the factual background of the dispute in our previous note here.

The Court heard the appeal in December 2023. Notwithstanding the main judgment given by Arnold LJ, the majority (Phillips and Whipple LLJ) dismissed Tesla’s appeal for lack of a serious issue to be tried against each of Avanci and InterDigital alone. Notably, the majority confirmed that Tesla does not meet the requirements set out in Vestel Electronic Sanayi Vi Ticarat AS v Access Advance LLC [2021] EWCA Civ 440 in circumstances where it does not have any legally enforceable right against Avanci. Of relevance to the Court’s decision was, inter alia, the fact that Avanci does not agree or purport to fulfil any SEP owner’s ETSI obligations, which individual SEP owners remain under an obligation to satisfy by offering bilateral licences on FRAND terms. Instead, the Avanci 5G Platform is simply a commercially convenient arrangement through which SEP owners can choose to licence their SEPs in the alternative to a multitude of bilateral agreements and outside the scope of their ETSI FRAND undertaking.

The Court unanimously upheld the Judge’s decision refusing to permit the claim for FRAND declarations to be brought against InterDigital under CPR rule 19.8 as a representative of all SEP holders whose SEPs are included in the Avanci 5G Platform.

Tesla was refused permission to appeal by the Court of Appeal. It is entitled to apply for permission from the Supreme Court.

IMO..IDCC is the stock to own in this environment...still able to sign chinese vendors despite the current geopolitical situation..immune to tariff threat..good fundamentals, potential cloud and streaming revenues..ai applications with keysight..AMHO.

I haven't sold any of my shares! I think that we need to burn through the remaining 2 million short shares, then that might be a place for longs to sell and take profits.

When I look at IDCC, I see a company at the beginning of its growth cycle. Now a Capable management team, and lawsuit precedent established through years of suing and appealing judgments against companies that refused to license but used IDCC IP.

No, much more i think than 25 shares .. At the open I sold 500 shares and i was not alone.

Liren Chen said it is a "new" customer. So possibly 1 of 3 you mentioned, Transsion, Vivo, Honor, since Huawei is not a new customer.

“We continue to execute according to our growth strategy and added a major Chinese smartphone vendor as a new customer. We now have seven of the ten largest smartphone vendors and almost 80% of the entire global smartphone market under license,” commented CEO Liren Chen.

This has the feeling of the tsunami that hit Phuket a few years ago they will pull the tide out to load up and then the 50 point wave hits
