-- Atom.com announced today that Olivia Munn - Attack of the Show
co-host, current Playboy cover girl, and all-around geek goddess --
has signed to star in and executive-produce Star Wars fan films for
the digital comedy network. Munn is joining Atom at San Diego
Comic-Con International this weekend to premiere the first of the
Star Wars-themed videos she is producing through "Operation Olivia:
The Star Wars Challenge," a new online destination that will launch
Saturday, July 25 at http://olivia.atom.com/. (Select photos from
Munn's first fan film production are already available on the
site.) "Operation Olivia" will debut with Munn's appearance at the
annual Lucasfilm-Atom.com "Star Wars Fan Movie Awards" ceremony
(Friday, July 24 at 8:30pm, Comic-Con Ballroom 20). The next night,
she will participate in Atom's "Star Wars fan movie" panel at
Comic-Con (Saturday, July 25 at 8:30pm, Room 7AB), where she will
discuss the project in more detail. Operation Olivia information
and promotional swag will also be available at Atom's Comic-Con,
Booth 3445, Wednesday evening, July 22 through Sunday, July 26.
"I'm excited to show everyone my exclusive Star Wars fan films;
it's great to get the official seal of approval from Lucasfilm and
Atom -- and hopefully the fans," said Munn. "No, there isn't any
wrestling with a rancor, BUT there might be a suggestive scene with
Jar Jar Binks -- no promises though!" "We couldn't be happier that
Olivia is taking a break from her ongoing conquest of Hollywood to
bring her star power and comedic talents to Atom.com and fan
filmmaking," said Scott Roesch, Atom.com general manager. "Trust
me, fans are going to want to show up at Comic-Con and hear what
she has to say about 'Operation Olivia.'" Atom.com has long been
the source of the Internet's best and funniest fan films. It
partnered with Lucasfilm in 2000 as the studio's exclusive online
partner for fan films, and the resulting "Star Wars Fan Movie
Challenge" program, judged by George Lucas and Atom and Lucasfilm
staff, has generated tens of millions of online views for hundreds
of titles, including Star Wars Gangsta Rap, Pink Five, and Padme.
Atom has also distributed many of the films on television through
Comedy Central, Spike TV, and Sci-Fi Channel. About Atom.com
