Perstorp and Matsushita Electric Works reach agreement 
on license manufacturing

Perstorp and Matsushita Electric Works have reached an exclusive agreement
regarding the production, development and marketing of new products in the
amino thermosets segment. Within the framework of the agreement, Perstorp will
have access to Matsushita's products and know-how in the field of
high-performance amino materials for the electrical parts industry in markets
outside Asia. Matsushita will have access to Perstorp's production-technology
expertise, with a view to sharpening its efficiency.

"We estimate that the products that we will begin to market will reach a sales
level of approximately SEK 30 to 40 million within four to five years and to
contribute to increasing our profitability. We plan to gradually add new
proprietary products, in an effort to further strengthen our market position
and differentiate our materials in the electrical parts segment," says Bengt
Danielsson President of the Perstorp Chemitec division.

Amino thermosets are widely known as materials with a competitive cost-
performance ratio. As such they are often used for industrial and electrical
parts thanks to their advantageous electrical and non-flammable properties.
Other areas of use are dinnerware, sanitary products and medical appliances. The
cooperation between Perstorp and Matsushita will result in technological
advances and pave the way for an even greater increase In the competitiveness of
amino thermosets in various applications.

The Perstorp Group has developed global operations in specialized segments of
the chemical and flooring markets.

Matsushita Electric Works Group operates in a wide range, e.g. electronic
appliances, and well known brands of the group are: National, Panasonic,
Technics, Quasara and NalS.
