5 injured after lithium fire breaks out at L3Harris aerospace facility in Orlando
Five people were injured Thursday morning in Orlando after lithium powder caused a fire to break out at an L3Harris aerospace facility, fire officials announced.
According to Orlando Fire Chief Charlie Salazar, the call to the 7600 block of Municipal Drive came in around 8:20 a.m. and prompted several Orlando Fire Department crews to respond, including hazmat, arson and bomb crews.
The fire broke out inside Aerojet Rocketdyne, a company that designs and produces sophisticated ballistic missile targets and undersea propulsion technology.
Assistant Orlando Fire Chief Walter Lewis said the response to the fire was large because of its severity. The lithium ignition is toxic and cannot be suppressed using water, Lewis explained.
Funny thing here is this wasnt even a battery that spontaneously combusted, but lithium powder. The article doesnt indicate whether or not the lithium powder was pure lithium or had anything added to it. So what caused the powder to catch fire? Hutchison Effect since Lithium is a metal? Even the powder is susceptible to spontaneously combusting making it dangerous and toxic it seems.

Section 2 - Hutchison Effect & Teslas Whompy Wheel issue
Jain is one of tens of thousands of Tesla owners who have experienced premature failures of suspension or steering parts, according to a Reuters review of thousands of Tesla documents. The chronic failures, many in relatively new vehicles, date back at least seven years and stretch across Tesla’s model lineup and across the globe, from China to the United States to Europe, according to the records and interviews with more than 20 customers and nine former Tesla managers or service technicians.
https://www.reuters.com/investigates/special-report/tesla-musk-steering-suspension/
The exact cause of the Hutchison Effect is unknown in public spheres as it is classified under national security. However the most likely culprit seems to be a combination of electromagnetic sources coming together in a way to change the makeup of metals leading to their rusting, softening, fracturing, complete breaking, even dustification. Keep in mind the degree of metal materials that are within our buildings and infrastructure...even in concrete. Maybe this is why we are seeing an increase in building and bridge collapses?

By: Peter DiCarlo | December 24, 2024
• $AAPL has been in a months-long compression phase, forming equal highs at a key liquidity zone.
Each sell-off has been met with higher lows, signaling bullish compression. This is a classic setup where price consolidates before breaking out into higher highs.
While the ideal entry would have been at market buyers’ support, the weekly BX Trender confirmation green suggests price is gearing up for a breakout.
With December approaching—a historically strong month—it appears Apple is preparing for a move higher.

Succession again becomes a concern at Apple with 63-year-old Tim Cook older than many other CEOs
Monday, December 9, 2024 3:03 pm
7 Comments
Apple faces a potential leadership challenge as CEO Tim Cook approaches retirement. The company lacks a clear, immediate successor, creating uncertainty about future leadership. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman suggests that finding a suitable replacement could prove to be a complex task for Apple.
Ananya Gairola for Benzinga:
“You look down the list of executives, and it’s really not clear how this all pans out,” Gurman said, adding, “You wonder why there hasn’t been more transparency and exposure for the next leaders. It raises a broader question: Does Apple have a comprehensive and deliberate set of succession plans?”
According to the report, there’s no basis to presume that a leadership transition is imminent. While Cook may be older than the CEOs of other tech companies leading the S&P 500, he is far from being the oldest executive at the helm of a major corporation.

Child's phone catches fire in Cambridge, Ont. movie theatre
A Cambridge, Ont. mother was left shaken after her 11-year-old’s cellphone suddenly caught fire in a movie theatre.
No one was hurt but she worries that it could have been a lot worse.
On Monday, Madara Mejoule was waiting for her son and his friend outside the theatre. Wondering why they were taking so long, she went inside to get him. She was shocked by what she saw.
“The whole movie theater was filled with smoke and you could smell there was like a toxic gas smell,” Mejoule recalled.
Her son ran up to her and told her his phone had caught fire.
At first, she was skeptical.
“I didn't believe that a phone could explode spontaneously,” Mejoule admitted.

How does EMF cause lithium batteries to experience thermal runaway and thus spontaneously combust? One of two main ways:
#1 - Overcharge/Discharge
With various impressed external magnetic field intensities an effect was noticed on the charge and discharge curves as well as the charge and mass concentrations within the batteries. With the two-dimensional model starting from 0mT and going to 1mT had the effect of discharging the battery faster and charging the battery faster. With the two-dimensional model starting from 1mT and going to -1mT had the effect of charging the battery faster. In either case an effect on the various characteristics of the battery were studied. With the experiments conducted on the two types of batteries the effect was more profound than subtle. Discharge times were twice as fast and charge times were equally
affected. With the smaller batteries they all generally charged faster under the presence of a magnetic field due to more uniform penetration. In the presence of the field they also discharged faster. The larger batteries would not see the same uniform penetration because only a small area of the battery sees the center of the coil it is placed on
In this dissertation, they found that external magnetic fields significantly increased charge and discharge rates in individual lithium battery cells; like shown in the following image. They also found that smaller batteries were impacted to a greater degree than larger ones. This is likely a reason Tesla is switching to larger battery cells in addition to employing magnetic attenuating honeycomb sandwich battery pack.

Gene Munster sees long-term upside for Apple stock
Monday, December 2, 2024 1:01 pm
No Comments
Last month, Deepwater Asset Management’s Gene Munster said in an interview on CNBC that the impact of Apple Intelligence on Apple’s earnings won’t be seen until the next “few quarters,” pointing to long-term upside for Apple stock.
Insider Monkey:
He has revised his targets for growth but believes the stock has upside in the long term.
“I own it personally and think there’s still some upside. I’m always looking ahead, and I believe the numbers still have room to grow. However, one piece has changed. If you had asked me two weeks ago, I would’ve said the Street expected iPhone growth around 15% for fiscal 2025. I’ve revised that — I now think it’s closer to 10%. The Street is at 5%, so I still see upside, but not as much. I’m also shifting some of that revenue into 2026, so this represents a slight change in my perspective.”
?
MacDailyNews Take: Apple Intelligence is a multi-year supercycle, not an immediate one.

Smoking phone battery diverts Miami-bound flight to Palm Beach International Airport
A Southwest Airlines flight headed to Miami on Sunday was forced to land at Palm Beach International Airport due to an overheating cellphone battery, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
The crew on Southwest Flight 3204 from Chicago Midway International Airport noticed the lithium battery smoking, the FAA said in a statement. The Boeing 737 MAX landed safely just after 6 p.m. at PBIA, a Southwest spokesperson said Wednesday.
Just like the more recent event in Denver, a cellphone battery on a Southwest flight in Florida suffered spontaneous combustion a lithium battery in one of the cellphones on board.

San Diego sightseeing tour company devastated after fire destroys 95% of its vehicles
A sightseeing tour company in San Diego is having to hit the brakes on rentals after about 30 of its vehicles, including several powered by lithium-ion batteries, went up in flames Thursday night, authorities said.
Lithium-ion battery fires have the potential to be extremely dangerous as they emit hazardous gases and can burn for hours or even days.[
In this case, the fire was quickly extinguished and it’s unclear whether the batteries were damaged, Rezende said. /i]

How a cellphone battery, charger caused a house fire in Brockton
A house fire on Tuesday was caused by a cellphone battery, officials said.
Brockton Fire Chief Brian Nardelli said that the fire didn‘t necessarily come from the phone itself of but an “improper charger” with no stopping mechanism once the phone’s battery had reached full capacity.
“People will buy these generic phone chargers from gas stations like Cumberland farms and it won’t have a stopping mechanism,” he explained. “And so it keeps charging and causes the phone to catch fire or explode.”
The Brockton Fire Department responded shortly after midnight and were on scene for an hour and a half. “Copious amounts of water” were used to extinguish the flames.
Yea i doubt its the cables fault and more likely EM radiation causing the battery to overcharge.

Apple less vulnerable to President Trump’s tariffs than ‘many might believe’ – Bernstein
Wednesday, November 6, 2024 4:02 pm

Apple is less vulnerable to increased trade tariffs from President Donald Trump, Bernstein analysts said Wednesday. Bernstein estimated that even if U.S. IT hardware companies increased prices by 20% due to higher tariffs, net profits stood to be materially impacted, especially for companies with lower gross margins.
Investing.com:
Dell Technologies Inc. and HP Inc. appeared the most vulnerable, while IBM was likely to be the least impacted.
Bernstein analysts said Apple was less vulnerable than broader consensus would suggest, with its high gross margins able to absorb higher tariffs despite its high exposure to the tech supply chain, especially in China. The company is expected to see a 7% hit to earnings per share.
Trump has proposed steep trade tariffs on imported goods regardless of the country of origin.
On China, however, Trump has proposed a 60% tariff on all goods, and as much as 200% tariffs on goods from Mexico. While Trump may not need Congressional approval to impose the duties, the Republicans were seen winning a majority in both the Senate and the House of Representatives.
MacDailyNews Note: Bernstein rates Apple as “Outperform” (Buy) with a 12-month price target of $240.
