Yes, it looks like Nikola might not make it. One would think that a large truck manufacturer is waiting for bankruptcy to get them for a dime. I would love Andy or Sanjay to make the argument of why green hydrogen is the best solution for any of the numerous products and services we provide. I mean you can be a one source solution, but if the only one that is practical and make some economic sense is forklifts then why did we spend billions elsewhere? And with the forklifts we paid them to buy our products. (Amazon and Walmart at least)

thats the problem alright...but whats the solution?...toyota has been selling their fcev in calif for years...there are a few places to fuel up in frisco or LA (when they are working) but really no where else...and i mean no where else in the whole country...hyundai is making a fcev as have other car manufacturers...but they seem to be waiting or thinking that fueling stations will just magically get built because they have fcev...

i suppose the thought was that the Fed Gov via IRA or BBB or whatever would subsidize the building of the vast amounts of fueling stations that would be needed...or at least seed that growth...

but here comes Trump...and he doesnt seem to give a crap about hydrogen or fcev's...unless Trump does a turnabout, they are looking at 4 years of nothing happening for them or hydrogen in general...

i would have thought that fuel cell electric semi trucks would have fared better than fcev...but just look at the sad state of affairs that NKLA is in...

Steve - Beyond FCEV's ... I don't think PLUG is fixable with Andy and the current Management Team.

PLUG has lost all of their credibility, you can even hear the giggles from the analysts on the conference calls when Paul and Andy make their projections.

I think it is already too late for PLUG to recover, even with new blood. We are watching Hydrogen plays folding all over the world, and I think PLUG is on that list as well.

Steve - Correct. A Classic Chicken and Egg Dilemma.

Hydrogen Stations aren't getting built because there are not enough vehicles to make stations profitable.

FCEV Cars aren't selling because there are not enough stations and the fuel is costly .

BEV's have avoided this because electricity is everywhere, and it is very cheap ... cheaper than gasoline.

Since Hydrogen is made from either fossil fuels or electricity, hydrogen can never cost less than either feedstock source.

BEV's have several advantages over gasoline , diesel and hydrogen.

Hydrogen has NO Advantages over gasoline, diesel or electricity.

It will take decades for Hydrogen to overcome the Chicken/Egg Dilemma.

Jack, we get it. At this point in time there are not enough fueling stations, and the cost is not competitive. The thing is some people that are concerned for the environment are willing to pay the extra cost just like those that were early adopters of EV cars. I think the decrease of cars is directly linked to problem with people getting fueled up. Once this has stabilized and more is available then adoption could slowly grow. For it to be widespread the cost of both the cars and H2 will have to come way down.

SLINGERLANDS, N.Y., Jan. 27, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Plug Power Inc. (NASDAQ: PLUG), a global leader in comprehensive hydrogen solutions for the green hydrogen economy, boosted its liquidity by approximately $30 million through the transfer of the Federal Investment Tax Credit (ITC) on January 24, 2025, to a major investor with a strong track record of purchasing comparable credits. The $30 million ITC transfer represents Plug's first use of the transferability rules under the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) of 2022 and is among one of the first transfer deals for hydrogen storage and liquefaction assets.

Under the IRA, facilities like Plug’s plant in Woodbine, Georgia that produce, liquify, and store green hydrogen can claim the Section 45V Production Tax Credit (PTC) for green hydrogen produced as well as the ITC on the hydrogen storage and liquefaction assets at the facility. Plug secured the ITC through its investment in liquefaction and storage technologies at its green hydrogen plant in Woodbine, Georgia, which began production in early 2024. This development builds on Plug’s announcement in June 2024 of utilizing the PTC at its Woodbine, Georgia facility — allowing the company to benefit from both the PTC and ITC.

The IRA introduced new tax credits for hydrogen storage and liquefaction assets, as well as provisions for transferring certain previously non-transferable tax credits. These changes enable businesses to better monetize their tax credits and simplify financing processes.

“Plug is leveraging tax credit transferability to offset a portion of our investment in our hydrogen plants, which will provide liquidity and reduce future fuel costs,” explained Plug CFO Paul Middleton. “This transaction represents a key non-dilutive balance sheet leverage opportunity and sets the stage for future ITC monetization opportunities as we continue build out our green hydrogen ecosystem.”

Has PLUG done many data centers or server farms with Hydrogen as the primary power ?

$PLUG Plug Power is working with AI to power data centers and computational infrastructures.

Like the previous video stated EV trucks are better for short distance and lighter loads. They also reduce emissions which is part of their goal. I am not sure that H2 will be part of their fleet for longer distance or heavier loads. What do you think? I know Nikola is on the verge of bankruptcy I hear. I wonder if a big trucking firm will scoop them up. I wonder if we eve delivered equipment to them or took delivery of the H2 trucks in the deal we made with them? Like most things we never get updated.
