While terms of the settlement were not disclosed, resolving the litigation with Strong Global Entertainment will instantly benefit Safehaven by freeing Ravenwood to focus on rapidly finishing postproduction and promptly selling the series to a buyer. The Cartel’s Stan Spry will be overseeing initial sales for the series.

“We are pleased to resolve the litigation with Strong Global Entertainment and all related parties. Ravenwood looks forward to finishing postproduction on Safehaven and presenting our 10-episode first season to buyers,” said Kevin V. Duncan, producer and principal of Ravenwood. “Along with my producing partners James Seale and The Cartel, led by Stan Spry, we are excited to be part of the new wave of independent TV production.”

“Safehaven is a visually stunning supernatural thriller with a fresh story, terrific plot twists, dark humor, and engaging characters that will no doubt deliver a bingeable series appealing to a broad audience,” added Stan Spry, CEO of The Cartel. “Everyone at The Cartel is beyond excited to bring this very special show to the marketplace and to the world. James Seale, Kevin V. Duncan, Anthony Fankhauser and the entire cast and crew created an exceptional independent television series that I believe audiences will love.”

“Every production has its challenges,” said Creator and Showrunner James Seale. “But thanks to the support and commitment of my producing partner Kevin V. Duncan, this matter is now behind us and audiences will finally get to delve into the world of Safehaven, a riveting story with a cast of fantastic new faces and immense franchise potential.”

A hybrid medical drama/supernatural thriller in the vein of mind-benders like “Jacob's Ladder” and “Black Swan,” Safehaven tells the story of high school comic artist Jenna Frost (Georgie Murphy), who finds herself in a surreal reality where nightmarish visions come to life from her drawings, threatening to destroy everything around her. Her only hope is John Rayburn (Bob Frazer), the mysterious new school counselor who may hold the secret to the mystery. Complicating matters is Will (Gino Anania), a passionate young man committed to protecting Jenna, who finds herself torn between rejecting his help and her growing feelings for him.

Based on the graphic novel by Seale from Michael Bay’s 451 Media Group, the 10-episode series stars newcomers Georgie Murphy (Christmas by the Book) and Gino Anania (Skymed, The Porter, Kiss Before Christmas), along with the multi-award-winning Bob Frazer (Drinkwater, The Cannon, Finding Mr. Right, Girlfriend Experience, The X-Files).

Ravenwood was represented by Dorothy B. Richardson of the Law Offices of Dorothy B. Richardson and Michael G. Freedman of The Freedman Firm PC.
