Murphy brings to Astound more than 20 years’ experience in the telecommunications industry

Astound Broadband (Astound), an award-winning provider of Internet, Mobile and TV services, today announced that Toni Murphy has been named EVP, Chief Operating Officer. Murphy has more than 20 years of experience in the cable and telecommunications industry. She joins Astound from Comcast where she served in leadership positions including, most recently, CMO and SVP, Sales and Marketing in the Atlanta-based Central Division, and prior, Senior Vice President/General Manager for the Keystone Region based in Pittsburgh, PA. At Comcast, she led teams of over 2,000 employees and directed operational, strategic, and financial performance of multi-billion growth segments. Her career journey at Comcast touched many disciplines including sales and marketing, customer experience, operations, network construction and design, and corporate finance, for both the consumer and business segments.

At Astound, Murphy will oversee the daily operations of the Company along with setting strategic direction for the Company’s continued success. She replaces Astound’s former Chief Operating Officer, Chris Fenger, who recently retired after serving over 13 years in that role.

Toni received her bachelor’s degree from Princeton University in the field of French and Economics. Murphy’s career began in investment banking and private equity where she gained experience in mergers and acquisitions, debt financing, and leveraged buyouts in the cable, broadcasting and technology industries.

Murphy currently serves on the board of Eat ‘N Park Hospitality Group.

She has received numerous awards including the CableFax Diversity List that honors the top 100 diverse leaders in the cable and media industry, the Power 100 list of City and State of Pennsylvania and Women of Distinction by Girl Scouts of Western Pennsylvania.
