Re:  Announcement of Group Merger

The Boards of Moyle Interconnector (Financing) Plc and Premier Transmission
(Financing) Plc wish to announce that each of their parent companies, Moyle
Holdings Limited and Northern Ireland Energy Holdings Limited respectively, have
agreed to merge, subject to receipt of any necessary third party approvals.

The merger will bring under one group the companies which own the Moyle
Interconnector and the Scotland/Northern Ireland gas pipeline. As a result of
the merger, the following directors appointments have been made:

To the Board of Premier Transmission (Financing) Plc

Dr Alan McClure         Mr Damian McAteer
Mrs Felicity Huston     Ms Nuala Sheeran

To the Board of Moyle Interconnector (Financing) Plc 

Ms Nuala Sheeran
