Operational Update -
Resumption of Operations at Gravelotte
Gem Resources Plc (LSE: GEMR), the
owner and operator of the Gravelotte Emerald Mine in South Africa,
is pleased to announce the successful resumption of operations
following the seasonal annual leave shutdown, as outlined in our
Operational Updated released on 11 December 2024.
Key
Updates:
•
Processing Recommenced: Processing
activities at the Gravelotte Emerald Mine have resumed as planned,
following the completion of the annual leave shutdown from
mid-December.

Mining
Resuming: Contract mining will
recommence shortly at the Cobra Open pit.

Heath &
Safety and Environment (HSE): In
line with regulatory requirements and the Company's commitment to
maintaining a safe and healthy working environment, a full suite of
health and safety checks was conducted prior to the restart of
operations. Key actions
included:
o Annual Medical
Examinations: All personnel
underwent mandatory medical assessments to ensure fitness for
duty.
o Safety Equipment
Inspections: Routine inspections and
maintenance of all personal protective equipment (PPE), machinery,
and site infrastructure were completed .
o Compliance and Training
Refreshers: Refresher training on
mine-specific health and safety protocols, including hazard
identification, workplace safety practices, and compliance with
applicable regulations, was carried out to ensure all team members
are fully aligned with operational requirements.
The Company is pleased to report a
seamless transition back to operations, with all systems
functioning efficiently.
Next Steps and Outlook
Gem Resources Plc remains focused on
building a significant emerald stockpile in preparation for sale at
auction. The timing of the auction will depend on the volume and
quality of material mine and stockpiled, as well as the annual
auction schedule managed by Bonas Group. Bonas typically conducts
one or two combined auctions per year for independent emerald
producers of GEMR's scale, ensuring adequate market interest and
participation.
