                    Pipex Communications plc (the "Company")

The company has made application for a total of 225,000 new ordinary shares of 1
pence to be admitted to the Alternative Investment Market ("AIM") following an
exercise of options from the company's Unapproved Executive Share Option Scheme
and rank pari passu with the existing Ordinary 1p shares.


Admission of the New Shares to AIM is expected to become effective at 8.00 am on
6th November 2003.
