Initial Rollout to Cover Over 100,000 Teachers in 4,000
Schools
VANCOUVER,
March 29 /PRNewswire/ - China
Education Resources, Inc. ("CER") (TSXV: CHN) (OTCQX: CHNUF), a
leading technology provider of online learning, training courses
and tools for teachers, students and education professionals in
China, announced today that it has
received official authorization from the Liaoning provincial
education officials to provide online teacher training and study
programs in conjunction with the country's mandated continuing
education credit program.
The Liaoning Province with over
43 million residents in 14 cities, covering 56,300 square miles,
has 9,000 schools with 294, 961 teachers instructing 4.5 million
students. The Provincial Education Commission selected five cities,
representing approximately 104.490 teachers and 1.6 million
students, to initially start the program in March. These five
cities will each select 800 teachers, for a total 4,000 teachers,
to participate in the initial program. The fee per teacher for the
training program, which will be financed by the provincial and
municipal governments, will be 200
RMB (US$30). The program will
be administered using CER's School Platform and is an ongoing
program requiring teachers to achieve continuing training credits
during their careers.
Commenting on the provincial endorsement, Chengfeng Zhou, China Education Resources' CEO, said, "This is
a milestone achievement for our company. The Liaoning Province offers an incredible
opportunity for our company to participate in China's education initiative. We have built a
powerful infrastructure to provide efficient and dynamic on-line
training in support of the initiative. Our four-step growth plan
has now been expanded to fourteen provinces throughout China.
As our comprehensive training resource portal gains traction
throughout the educational system, we anticipate achieving similar
endorsements as we achieved in the Liaoning Province."
