On another note, for some unknown reason, interplay just released a patch for Kingpin Reloaded. Maybe they have a new company now working on it, as the 3dr group I believe went out of business who had been working on it

Yes. Look at the posts below. Interplay hired a transfer agent. I posted the info a few posts back... If the stock company didn't automatically reinstate the shares, your supposed to be able to call the transfer agent. If that doesn't work, you're supposed to be able to do it manually

I'm also hoping for a better regulatory environment under the Trump Administration. I don't know if they plan on allowing penny stocks that don't report earnings to trade again, but if they did, that would be awesome, both for us shareholders, and also for other investors.

I was surprised and pleased that Interplay's lawyer responded to my inquiries about this. He said the transfer agent is called Transfer Online. He said they are working with the state of delaware, where they are incorporated, and are hoping to get the necessary documents and wrap everything up by the end of next week. He said once it is listed officially, then the brokerage can be informed and reinstate the shares.. I'll continue to post here if I receive any other information.

I heard about this back in May 2023. How long does it take? I hope it happens and also not counting on it.

Yep. I checked in with interplay and they said they are getting a new transfer agent. They said the stock will be reinstated once they get a new transfer agent automatically. They said if not, you can start a manual process through the transfer agent. I'll post info once I have it

Got an email yesterday from Schwab. They are removing Interplay stock from my accounts.It's been six years and no way to transfer or trade. No stock certificates to take position of.

I've been watching the Kingpin Reloaded discord conversation. Looks like several, maybe all, of the developers of Kingpin were laid off. It's also seeming like interplay decided to cut its losses and not try to further fix the game or release it on Gog. Alternatively, it could just be everything's up in the air and has to be renegotiated because of the layoffs. 🤷 either way, not helpful for the company... seems like the next thing is Earthworm Jim TV show. I would think they would try to do something with Earthworm Jim as a video game in parallel as well

It's from general research from owning stock in different entertainment companies. There are trade shows to shop TV/streaming projects to different services (broadcasters, streaming services, and or DVD printers) and other trade shows for merchandise licensing IP (intellectual property). The large studios are always there. Licensing mostly occurs (a year or two, sometimes more) before the public sees it.

Movie studios and animation studios have done it for a long time. More recently (last couple of decades) comic book and video game companies have engaged in IP merchandise licensing. It virtually free money, if you can get it.

There is some Earthworm Jim merchandise for sale on Amazon, but I haven't seen any recent updates on the animated series. I still don't know where the series will appear.

Rick, how do you know so much about the opportunities for shopping the Earthworm Jim cartoon? That's some pretty specific information. Are you in the entertainment/ video game field or did you just do some research on this? Any other tidbits or insights you have about interplay's potential future developments? It's hard to hold out hope with this stock, but your previous post about something potentially happening in April gives me something to at least think about moving forward

I haven't seen anything since "Kingpin Reloaded" came out. I have no access to their X (Twitter) page (it wants me to log in, I don't have an account). Their Facebook page is updated sporadically.

I would think that the "Earthworm Jim" animated series would be the next news to look for.

MIPTV is in April 2024 and the Las Vegas Licensing Expo is in May 2024.

MIPTV is where they would shop the show out to broadcasters/streaming services.

Patches to Kingpin Reloaded seem to be improving the game, but still much is needed... Hopefully, the developers will continue patching it, and after a few more patches, the game will run satisfactorily.

Kingpin is getting horrible reviews and it's described as unfinished and full of glitches. I was guessing this was going to happen given the fact that it has been in development for years and it's just a remaster and interplay didn't even show it on its main website.

Interplay has been "marketing", very low key, on Facebook and Instagram for Kingpin Reloaded. As of yet, I don't see anything on their main web page for Kingpin Reloaded which makes me think they are not very pleased with the results...

It probably didn't take that long. The companies involved (except IPLY) were working on other games. It should be interesting to see what the reviews are.

Very weird situation with the new Kingpin game.. The game is not featured on Interplay's website despite supposedly coming out in two weeks. They revealed the remake 3 years ago or more, yet they just showed a trailer for the game in which the game literally looks the exact same as the original game with basically no enhancements. WTF is going on?

I agree. They don't have enough money to develop new games. They can't keep re-releasing old games forever. And, their attempt to be a third party game publisher hasn't panned out. The Earthworm Jim animated series (or maybe movie) will be a chance to lock in value for the company and shareholders. Netflix (not saying they should buy IPLY) has had success with video game IP to animated series on their streaming service. I think IPLY still has viable IP that can be developed.

They don't post on Twitter either. I think they're only option, at this point, and I think it is what they are planning, is to sell or merge the company after first getting a few things going to show the value of the company. For instance, if they can launch a successful cartoon with Earthworm Jim, the value of the company will go up exponentially in any merger or sale.

Maybe they hire someone every now-and-then to update their website.

It looks like they have been available since August 1, 2023. Wonder if the Earthworm Jim Beyond the Groovy" animated thing is coming out soon-ish. There isn't much info on it.

Don't get why Interplay does not link to the toy figurines on their website or why they aren't prominently featuring Kingpin on their website due to its imminent release...
