ZURICH--SGS SA(SGSN.VX) said Monday it has acquired Gladstone
Testing, a construction material testing business based in
Queensland, Australia, for an undisclosed sum.
MAIN FACTS:
-Gladstone Testing offers a range of services focused on road
construction and the commercial and residential building sectors
and will allow SGS to target growth opportunities in the Gladstone
region for the LNG and coal industries.
-Privately owned, it employs 14 staff and is expected to
generate 2012 revenues in excess of AUD1.4 million.
-"I am pleased with this acquisition which gives us an immediate
market presence and expands our geographic footprint in Australia,"
said Chris Kirk, CEO of SGS.
