WILMINGTON, DELAWARE--(Marketwired - Oct 23, 2013) - TMM, Inc.
(PINKSHEETS:TMMI) ("TMMI" or "the Company") is pleased to announce
that the Board of Directors has approved the construction of a
server farm to expand its video technology development lab testing
and development capabilities.
The unit's primary use will be testing outcomes in side-by-side
comparisons of TRUDEF? at different settings to RAW content, as
well as other codecs and video enhancement technologies. The
prototype also is designed to operate automatically and has the
capacity to host over 200 remote client-controlled computers in
parallel through a secure VPN.
Phase I of the newly designed server array will initially
consist of 22 multi-core computers, connected through an internal
network to programmers' workstations. It will operate within a
separate secure facility linked to TMMI's Development Lab.
TMMI programmers will use the server farm to compress video in
parallel to determine optimal settings for codec scalability, image
quality and encoding speed. It will be used to compare, test and
optimize a variety of content supplied by strategic partners,
licensees and customers.
As configured, the server farm will have capacity comparable to
certain commercial compression entities used for contract
production. It will be used primarily for research and modeling for
larger-scale licensees, high-volume archival clients and
mass-production service bureaus.
