Therefore WaMu had no exposure to the downside.

The TBTF (the writers of the Derivative Contracts) are hoping that they can minimize their exposure to cover their obligations in LIBOR litigation.
I don’t think it’s working for them. More time means more interest accumulation.

I have suggested for yrs that, the market will reach it's all time highs as will COOP.
Then the tank takes place in the markets and during the turmoil, shares of COOP will be imho issued shares and COOP will tank , and it ALL will be unnoticed with the overall tanking of the market.
Coops shares will be issued and the PPS will drop in direct response to the 37 mill shares issued or dilution of aprox 50% shares will be scooped up as fast as they hit the market for sale.
Then imho 1-4 days later a MATERIAL Event 8K will be issued disclosing the 2.5% of money COOP will receive from the closure of the WELLS accts/or other cash.
At a later date imho there as well be some sort of merger/buy out/ JV that will include FANNY FREDDIE and LEHMAN

HUGE MEGA MULTINATIONAL FINANCIAL CONGLOMERATE and the go to for troubled/seized loans from the oncoming bank closure (JPM is too troubled imho to be allowed to take on any more loan exposure from seized banks

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

My guess is the 1.7 TRILLION is the total of loans packaged and sold by WMB/WMI. The law stipulates that those who package and sell mprtgages must purchase at least four percent of the mortgages themselves. When you multiply ,04 times 1.7 TRILLION you come up with 628B. Rumor has it that WAMU purchased more than the four percent required by law. So, my guess is, the 635B is the value of the MBS owned by WAMU.

Nice summation as you pointed out the real possibility of what is intended to happen for escrow survival . Go escrow!

Most of the "stuff" posted on this message board has no authentication but spurious conjectures of "shareholders" owning assets of a company...what you own in a corporation is the "equity" generated by the company assets, and valued as shares that "you own", and can be traded for their values on the stock exchange....shareholders are not responsible for the liabilities owed to Creditors if the company files bankruptcy....Do creditors come after you for their money in bankruptcy?.....NO !!!!!!! ....thats because your name is not on company assets. Creditors will claim the tangible assets of the company, if any, and shareholders cannot be sued for companies liabilities.... THATS WHY ASSETS ARE NEVER REGISTERED IN SHAREHOLDERS NAMES!!!!!!!.....as an example: Apple computer is worth trillions of dollars in cash, equiptment, etc....do you think you can ask them to give you your pro rated shares of the trillions if you own 200 shares ????....they would just tell you to sell your stock on the exchange....my point?... former holders of equity in WMI/WAMU own squat of the former company... you guys are waiting for a train that derailed 17 years ago..... the markets come back. will be down on the confusion of reorg and aditional shares.

For the same reason it went from 50.00 to 112.00 revenue stream on services....however...when government shutdown looming I believe the market will take a hit....

When Rosen said that Equity could pursue those certain assets down the road later on after BK exit, I didn't actually consider that buying a servicer Nationstar (now mr cooper) in 2018 is the way to do it... interesting. I just assumed we'd just knock on doors to collect what was in various bank trust by the trustees since 2008 till 2018 - and maybe so just for those portions. I just hadn't made the connection that from 2018 and the Nationstar acquisition, that the process would be different going forward. That the process was actually more than just collecting servicing income. That it was also about pursuing the trusteed assets Rosen spoke about.

Of course COOP is not going to issue millions of shares to former owners of Escrow shares which would obviously totally crash its share price.

COOP simply acquired WMIH for its NOLs and has zero obligation to give away a large chunk of the company to former shareholders of a long dissolved insolvent company.

The fact that COOP is trading near ATH tells you that no-one believes in such a scenario outside of this MB.
