What the professionals and banking regulators know and understand, but the rest of us do not, is this: Rule #1 all violent price movements - up or down - are the result of one or more (usually a group) of professionals manipulating the price. This is supposed to explain why a mining company finds something good and nothing happens. At the same time, for no apparent reason, a stock suddenly races up on low volume. Someone is manipulating the stock, often with an unsubstantiated rumor. For these manipulations to work, the professionals assume that {A} people are stupid and {B} people buy mostly when the price of the stock is high and {C} sell when the price is low. Therefore, the market manipulator can be successful as long as he controls the crowd. Let's be clear: The reason you speculate in these markets is because you are greedy and optimistic. The smarter a stock promoter is, the better his knowledge of the advertising industry. The really slick market manipulators will even feed the boards and journalists with negative stories about the company. Or start a propaganda campaign with negative rumors at all levels of communication, even hire someone to drive down the price. Even hire someone to attack the analyst who had previously written enthusiastically about the stock (this is not a game for the faint of heart!). You see the stock drifting endlessly, you may even develop a feeling of helplessness, as if you are floating in space without a lifeline. This is exactly what the manipulator wants (see rule #5). Perhaps he does this to avoid the deep disappointment of a failed deal. Often you hear the refrain "oh, these are the young companies... very risky..." or "9 out of 10 companies go bankrupt every year and this is a venture capital exchange for young companies". Yes, in previous 4 year cycles bitcoin has retreated back quite a bit but usually about 3 years after the halving which was this year. No matter how high it goes people will be able to buy it for $75,000 or less in a matter of time. It always comes back to its old high every cycle unless all of a sudden this one is different. So no need to panic. I call $150,000 max for this cycles high before it tanks.
