                                 Board Changes


Appian Technology plc, the AIM listed provider of Automatic Number Plate
Recognition systems ('ANPR'), and traffic guidance products and solutions, has
appointed Philip Lindsell as Interim Chief Financial Officer with immediate
effect.


David Hearn, the current Finance Director, will be leaving the Company and the
Board after a transitional period to pursue other opportunities. Mr. Hearn, who
joined the Board in April 2002, has played an important role in the development
of the Company, in particular its admission to AIM and the acquisition and
integration of Genesis (UK) Limited. The Board would like to thank Mr. Hearn for
his contribution to the Company.


Mr. Lindsell, aged 53, is a chartered accountant with considerable City and
financial experience having held a number of senior finance roles within major
UK companies. The Board believes that Mr Lindsell's abilities and experience
will greatly benefit the Company over the forthcoming months.
