                          APPOINTMENT OF NEW DIRECTOR

The Directors of Brazilian Diamonds Limited ("Brazilian Diamonds" or the 
"Company") are pleased to announce that Dr. Michael Byron has been appointed to
the board of the Company as a non-executive director effective immediately.

 SEQ CHAPTER /h /r 1Dr. Byron is a highly respected geologist with more than 22
years of domestic and international experience including research, field work,
and senior management experience in gold, base-metal, magmatic
nickel-copper-platinum group elements, rare earth elements, diamond, and
gemstone exploration.  He has experience in a variety of sectors including the
mineral exploration industry, government, and educational institutions.  His
Ph.D. involved in-depth studies of the mafic ultrapotassic volcanic rocks
(kamafugites, lamproites, kimberlites) of the Upper Cretaceous Mata da Corda
Formation, Minas Gerais, Brazil, a region with a long history of diamond
exploration and alluvial diamond production, and one of the regions where
Brazilian Diamonds is currently active.



Dr. Byron is the President & CEO and Director of Ginguro Exploration Inc., a
junior exploration company he helped co-found that has recently filed for
listing on the TSX Venture Exchange.  Mike is the former Vice President,
Exploration of Aurora Platinum Corp. (TSX-V), a company he was instrumental in
evolving from a newly listed public company in 1999 to a successful junior
nickel exploration company that was sold to FNX Mining Company Inc. in 2005.

The Chairman of Brazilian Diamonds, Mr Kenneth Judge said today " We are

Michael Byron is a Canadian citizen and resident, aged 48.  Dr Byron is
currently a director of Ginguro Exploration Inc. and within the last five years,
Dr. Byron was also a director of Xtra-Gold Resources Corp.

Dr. Byron has confirmed that there is no further information required to be
disclosed in accordance with Schedule Two(f) of the AIM Rules for Companies.
