           Sutton and East Surrey Water announces changes to its Board


Sutton and East Surrey Water plc ("SESW") announces that on 1 August 2006 Nick
Fisher will replace Phil Holder as Managing Director. Nick Fisher joined the
Group in 1989 and is currently the Finance Director. The new Finance Director
will be Jenny Hornby who joined the Group in 1992 and is currently the Company
Secretary and Financial Controller.

Phil Holder is to become directly involved in Deutsche Bank's infrastructure
investment business which acquired SESW earlier this year.

SESW also is pleased to announce that John Biles will be appointed to its Board,
at the next scheduled Board meeting on 20 September 2006, as an independent
Non-executive Director. John Biles replaces Julian Avery who resigned from the
Board earlier this year after eight years. In addition, John Biles will chair
the Board's Audit Committee.

John Biles is a non-executive director of Hermes Pensions Management Ltd,
Viridian Group plc, Charter plc, Chapelthorpe plc, and ArmorGroup International
plc. Previously, John was the Finance Director of the international engineering
group FKI plc.
