                         RESOURCES INVESTMENT TRUST PLC

                             RESULT OF TENDER OFFER

The result of the Tender Offer made by Walker Crips, which closed at 1:00 p.m.
on 15 June 2007, was as follows:

*   valid tenders were received from Shareholders in respect of 14,701,625
    Shares, representing approximately 92.01 per cent. of the issued share
    capital of the Company;

*   the Tender Price was 240p per Share;

*   the number of Shares purchased today under the Tender Offer by Walker
    Crips is 3,992,826, representing approximately 24.99 per cent. of the issued
    share capital of the Company;

*   the aggregate number of Shares tendered by Shareholders up to and
    including the Basic Entitlement of those Shareholders (being 24.99 per cent.
    of the number of Shares registered in each Shareholder's name at 5:00 p.m.
    on 15 June 2007, rounded down to the nearest whole number of Shares) was
    61,089 and those tenders have been accepted in full;

*   the aggregate number of Shares tendered by Shareholders in excess of the
    Basic Entitlement of those Shareholders was 14,640,536 and those tenders
    have been accepted in full in respect of the Basic Entitlement of those
    Shareholders and as to 1.87745 per cent. of tenders in excess of the Basic
    Entitlement of those Shareholders (rounded down to the nearest whole number
    of Shares);

*   the consideration payable to Shareholders in respect of successful
    tenders will be sent to Shareholders on 21 June 2007;

*   the Company has today repurchased from Walker Crips, at 240.87657p per
    Share, the 3,992,826 Shares acquired by Walker Crips under the Tender Offer
    and, following completion of the repurchase on 21 June 2007, those Shares
    will be cancelled; and

*   following cancellation of the Shares repurchased by the Company, the
    issued share capital of the Company will comprise 11,984,874 Shares.

The terms of the Tender Offer were set out in the circular to Shareholders dated
22 May 2007 (the "Circular").

Capitalised terms used in this announcement shall have the meanings given to
them in the Circular.
