It will be interesting to see what transpires tomorrow morning around the open and all day Monday on this news of being updated to the S&P. Hopefully, I can make some good coin on this postion.

volitility yes, but I feel in an uptrend, hopefully. Ovreall market has pressure, but this is one of the sectors most favorable. imo.

for some folks, yes, but for longerterm, bigger money, I hear already many are in for a longer, solid profit (a few years)

It will be very interesting to see what the Sept 20 and Sept 27 calls do over the next two or three weeks. I have 5 long calls each at strike price 33. The S&P 500 index will have to purchase PLTR and two other stocks that got added, but also sell the three stocks that got kicked out. DELL and ERIE got added along with PLTR. I would think there will be a lot of buying over the next two weeks, probably some selling, flipping back and forth as well. Believe they have to rebalance by Sept 23, a Monday. I believe there are other indexes that mimic the S&P 500 as well, but do not know exactly how they work. Will be interesting to say the least.

As much as Mr Karp loves a squeeze, I don’t expect one here. While all the put options betting on non-inclusion will be destroyed, we are already at highs for the year. Make that the last three years. I remember selling a February call in 2021 with a strike price of 46 and I got 4.70 for it. That must have been on the day it spiked . We have been looking for it to revisit 40 ever since.

What could hold us down now? Back then, we had price discovery, speculation on a bright fresh face, with no pesky P/E ratio to worry about, because it wasn’t profitable yet. Now we have positive earnings and a ratio to go with them, and, yeah, that sucker is kind of high. Not to mention a lot of macro headwinds. History says Fed rate cuts, as welcome as they might be, mark the beginning of a recession. Are we recession-proof? And September and October are often brutal, at least one if not both months. Last two years, October has been the low for much of the market. Two years in a row hardly makes a streak, but again, there is much to suggest we are in the season for bargain-hunting, not FOMO.

Having said that, I won’t be surprised if this particular ticker continues to pump. I will adjust to the idea of selling cash covered puts in the low 30’s, instead of the mid 20’s. Feeling pretty good about those cash covered October 32s right now.

Shares of Palantir Technologies Inc (NYSE:PLTR) are enjoying a breakout above the $30 level, which is the site of the stock’s September 2021 and July 2024 high. This level is three times the $10 opening price in 2020, when it became publicly listed in a direct initial public offering (IPO). The equity beat earnings estimates and revised its third-quarter and 2024 revenues to above expectations during its quarterly report earlier this month.



The analyst community is mostly negative, with six “buy” ratings compared to 12 “hold” or worse. This leaves plenty of room for upgrades. Shorts have been in covering mode since October, and at the time of this writing, Friday ushered in 28,000 calls at the 32-strike for August expiration. Implied volatility (IV) is looking reasonable, with a reading of 47% compared to the 63-day historic volatility (HV) reading of 50%. Not getting, but previously received. They RSUs that vested necessarily were issued at some point in the past, and the vesting occurred when a certain amount of time had passed or a certain price had been reached.

This transaction represents an automatic sale of shares to cover required tax withholding obligations in connection with the vesting of restricted stock units. All sales were conducted in compliance with the Reporting Person's Rule 10b5-1 trading plan.

How is this going to gain any more traction when there are form 4s filed every single day from insiders dumping shares! Every day, multiple times a day!!!

I may be dumping the rest of my Palantir Shares tomorrow if and when it hits $33 or even it gets closer and unable to do it. Will decide detail while watching the trading action for sell order price.

It will depend on evaluating the trading dynamic of tomorrow.

I think and feel that price is on too high a ground... and shaky.

The profits already taken yet still sitting on half my shares make me feel succumbing to greed.

Moving to other great stocks from profits is more exciting and timely given the larger market at this time.

Greed is too tempting but I know how to deal with likely loss as well. But, I am in charge and bigger and stronger than greed.

We shall see how things unfold. I am ready for it.
