Plug Power Appoints New General Manager for European, Middle Eastern and African Operations

LATHAM, N.Y., Sept. 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Plug Power Inc.
(NASDAQ: PLUG) a leading provider of clean, reliable on-site
energy, announced today that Jos van der Hyden has been appointed
as the General Manager of the company's European, Middle Eastern
and African operations. "Jos has impressive leadership experience,
and we're looking for him to play a key role in growing our
business throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa," said Mark

his new role, van der Hyden will oversee the Company's European
office, located in Apeldoorn, The Netherlands. Van der Hyden will
manage sales and marketing activities, manage technical customer
support, and provide guidance in human resources and site
management activities. Prior to joining Plug Power, van der Hyden
held several management and business development positions within
European telecommunication companies. He was responsible for
international operations and business development in continental
Europe for Vision Networks, the pan-European Cable TV subsidiary of
KPN. As marketing director at KPN Mobile he led the taskforce that
established the operational marketing and sales plan for the
introduction of GSM [Global System for Mobile Communications] in
the Netherlands. Van der Hyden has also held the positions of
associate with McKinsey & Company in Amsterdam and project
leader for Schlumberger in Ridgefield, Conn., U.S. A Dutch citizen,
van der Hyden earned an MBA degree from INSEAD in Fontainebleau,
France, and a doctorate degree from Delft University of Technology
